About This Series Diana likes to call these “tea and comforter” novels. Easy, guilty pleasure reads. Most are set in mill towns along the Shetucket River, it’s tributaries or other Eastern Connecticut rivers. Except for “The Nonprofit Murders” and “The Finest Little Village” they are set in an earlier time, some in the nineteenth century. Many of the buildings and establishments that graced those periods are included to create a historic feel to the novels. Three have character threads throughout: Summer Ice, Last on a Match and Jenny’s Way. Four (1, 4, 6 & 7) have strong homosexual lead characters; whose struggles, handled with delicacy and tact help us understand our common humanity.
